The RedJade team is hard at work on adding new features aimed at improving end-user experience. To that end, we have released several enhancements to the RedJade Questionnaire/Screener Builder and Test Set Up Options. As the enhancements are released they have been announced through in-app notifications and listed below, by release date, with links to corresponding support articles describing the functionality in more detail.

Release 10: August 13, 2025

  • Pre-Populate a Default Response – Use the default response option to pre-populate answer choices on a question when a participant starts the survey. Participants can then change their answers or continuing on without making a selection if they wish to accept the default answer choice.

Release 10: March 28, 2025

  • Check-In Date for Online Tests – Online Email and Packing Slip tests using Assisted Check-in can now allow participants to be checked in prior to the Start Date. Once checked in, if participants try to access the surveys early a new script displays indicating the survey will be available on the scheduled start date.



Release 10: March 24, 2025

  • Answer Piping Variables – Insert, or "pipe", the answer text from a previous question into a question on a later page in the questionnaire, allowing for a more customized, dynamic, and personal survey experience.
  • Skip Timer from Serving Console – Use the new Skip Timer option from the Serving Console during live data collection. The option can be enabled/disabled on tests as needed.



Release 9: March 04, 2025

  • Groups Source For Grid Questions – You can now choose to source the answers from a single or multiple select question into the groups of a grid question. You can also source groups from grid-to-grid questions.
  • Fixed Group when Randomized on Grids – If Group Randomization is enabled, then a group can be fixed so it is always presented in the same position. For example, an "Other" group may be fixed in the bottom position.
  • Enable Timer Skips – A skip timer button is added when previewing questionnaires. The button always displays on all Questionnaires Timers and Palate Cleanse screens. Optionally, enable a secret keyboard shortcut entry (CTRL+Shift+S) to advance past a timer.



Release 8: January 03, 2025

  • Include Question Answered Times in Raw Data – When you Download Raw Data you can choose to optionally include the time each individual question was answered. This enables you to track how much time was spent between questions or leading up to a specific point in the questionnaire.
  • Reporting Tab in Screener Builder – The Reporting tab is now visible in the campaign screener builder, allowing you to enter Reporting Names that populate the Screener Raw Data file header rows.



Release 7: July 25, 2023

  • Text Format Validation – Format validations are used to enforce participants enter a response following a specific format requirement, for example you may want them to enter a valid email address, date, or time of day. There are nine predefined format types available. Custom formats can also be specified.
  • A-Not-A Discrimination Method – The A–not-A test, is a method of discrimination testing comprised of at least two samples; at least one sample is a previously identified sample (“A”) and at least one is a test sample. All samples are presented blindly, and the assessor’s task is to assign the label “A” or “not-A” to each of the samples. 



Release 6: June 13, 2023

  • Library Template Trigger Logic – Question based trigger logic is now retained on Page Templates and Questionnaire Templates being saved in your libraries. When the template is added to a new questionnaire, the question reference in the trigger logic remains configured. Additionally, when saving templates to your libraries, if trigger logic is detected that can not be retained  in the library template, a warning message now displays.
    • NOTE: Existing library templates that have question triggers will not be automatically updated, you would need to replace them with the configured triggers. However, if those existing templates are added to a new questionnaire, the new trigger validation errors will now display. 

  • Trigger Validations – A warning modal now displays when questions or pages that have question based trigger logic configured are being moved or deleted, indicating that the trigger will be invalidated based on the change. Additionally, validation errors will display on the question or page when you attempt to save the questionnaire with missing or incomplete configurations.
  • Delete Answers or Questions with Data Validations  A warning modal now displays when answers or questions that have collected data are deleted, indicating that deleting answers will result in data loss and is not recoverable.
  • Survey Page Reload – When a survey is reloaded it no longer stops at a page if no questions are present. The survey will reload to the next unanswered question.



Release 5: March 11, 2023

  • Check-In Kiosk Station – Participants scheduled for a test can check themselves in at a dedicated computer or tablet setup in the reception area at your testing facility. When a participant arrives at the testing facility they can sign-in at a kiosk using their email, or other configured participant sign-in strategies. The events that they are scheduled for display for selection and the selected event's consent agreement is presented, if enabled. The participant is then checked-in and ready to participate in the test.
  • Assisted Check-In Application – The Assisted Check-In Application is getting a makeover! A new grid list format is presented to check in participants, providing users with more actionable information. Participants scheduled through a recruiting campaign displays and can be filtered by their scheduled session time, a color-coded status icon displays with additional time-stamped details on hove, and alternative outcome statuses can be assigned (e.g.; No Show, Pay & Send, etc.).
  • Assisted Check-In Scheduled or Qualified Participants – Assisted Check-In when using RedJade to Recruit now has a new sub-option that allows for "Scheduled or Qualified" (Alternate or Qualified Accepted) subjects to be checked-in and participate in events without being scheduled for a session time.
  • Multiple Participant Groups – You can now add multiple participant groups to all location options, including Online, Self Check-In and Descriptive Tests.
  • Compensation in Attendance Report – Compensation amounts are now included in the Recruiting Subjects download file. See Filter Subjects by Attendance and Download Subjects - Include Attendance Report for further details.
  • Self Check-In with Imported Participants – Imported Participants can sign in to a Self Check-In event. An email must be imported with the participant record. 
  • Add Subjects to Tests – Subjects can be directly added as a participant on a test. Just click "Add Participant" then search/select the subject name from the drop-down list.
  • Simultaneous Testing with Self Check-In and Assisted Check-in – Self Check-in and Assisted Check-In options now has subjects sign-in prior to the event select screen, tracking them as the participant in all the selected event's results. The subject need only enter their email once at sign-in, next are asked to select their events which then automatically loops them through the tests.
    • Note: All simultaneously scheduled events must use the same check-in type to work properly.



Release 4: February 23, 2023

  • Paste Response and Group Lists – Copy a list of terms from a document and paste them all at once when adding responses on questions and groups on grids. Additionally, you can copy & paste response text lists when entering translations for other languages added to the questionnaire.
  • Survey Page Submit Scrolls to Validation Errors  When participants are completing a survey, if any required questions are left unanswered or with validation errors the page will now automatically scroll back to the question with the missing answer/errors.
  • Radio Buttons & Checkboxes – We've increased the size of the radio buttons and checkboxes in surveys. Excess spacing between question text and responses has also been reduced.
  • Grid Questions Styling – The groups on grid questions now has shading that alternates between groups, making it easier for participants to differentiate between groups when answering grid questions. The column width for group labels has also been increased so group labels wrap less.



Release 3: February 02, 2023

  • QR Codes – QR Codes are now automatically generated within RedJade for Online Tests, Onboarding Procedures and Anonymous Access Screeners. See the support articles linked below for more details:
  • Questionnaire Timer Start Page Validation – Whenever a timer page element's start page becomes invalid, it will automatically update to prevent invalid timers from being saved.
  • Click & Drag on Mobile – Click & Drag now works on mobile touchscreen devices, including on Hexad/Tetrad questions, Onsite Serving Console tiles, Design Block building, and anywhere else click & drag is available.



Release 2: December 06, 2022

  • Collapse/Expand Question Display Mode Questions can be collapsed to display a minimized view of the questionnaire layout.
  • Page Breaks Page breaks can be inserted between questions on a page or removed to combine two adjacent pages in to one page.
  • Duplicate a Page You can now copy an entire page of questions/content.
  • Reorder Pages in a Questionnaire You can now move pages around and reorder them.
  • Reorder Questions We've added 2 additional ways to move/reorder questions.

  • Additional minor enhancements:
    • Browser Scrolling on Save – Whenever the questionnaire is saved, it no longer scrolls. Additionally, if a question configuration is open for editing, it will remain open and active.
    • Hidden Questionnaire Timers – Whenever a questionnaire timer is set to hidden it will now be indicated as such, allowing you to easily locate it while designing your questionnaire. In preview mode and live surveys it will continue to display completely hidden.
    • Show Percent on Numeric Questions – Show Percent is now available as a reporting option on numeric questions, de-select it to display the results as counts.
