A Household is a group of subjects that live together under the same address or housing unit. Households are used for two main purposes within RedJade, to limit only one person within the same household from participating in the same test and to manage minor children. For a minor to be added as a subject in RedJade, the minor must be joined to an existing Household. Minors are subjects under the age of 18 years old by default, or as defined by the age value entered in Minor Requirements. 

A Head of Household can add children and manage the child's profile from their My RedJade Portal account. When minors are added, the subjects that are Head of Household are treated as the minor's guardian for consent to participate in tests.

View Subjects in a Household

The Household tab within a subject's profile displays all other subjects that are part of the same Household. Click the image of the Household member to view their subject account.

To view subjects in a Household:

1. From the RECRUITING section, select SUBJECTS from the left navigation pane.
   
   
   
   
2. Search for the subject and click on [VIEW/EDIT].
   
   
   
   
3. The subject's profile opens.
   
   
   
   
4. Select the Household tab to view all members within the same Household.
   
   
   
   
5. Optionally, click on an image tile to open their subject profile.
   
   

   NOTE – Right-click and choose "Open link in new tab.", which allows to easily navigate between each subject's profile within the household.

   
   

Move Subject to a New Household

Subjects can be moved out of an existing Household and placed in a new Household of their own.

To move a subject into new household:

1. Open the subject's profile.
   
   
   
   
2. Under the Household section, click on CHANGE?.
   
   
   
   
3. Click on [NEW HOUSEHOLD].
   
   

   NOTE – A subject must be at least the age value entered in Minor Requirements to move to a New Household.

   
   
   
   

4. Optionally, enter the Address for the new Household.
   
   
   
   
5. Click on [SUBMIT].
   
   
   
6. Select the Household tab to see there are no other subjects in the household.
   
   

Join Subject to an Existing Household

Subjects can be moved into an an existing Household.

To move a subject into an existing Household:

1. Open the subject's profile.
   
   
   
   
2. Under the Household section, click on CHANGE?.
   
   
   
   
3. Click on Search for household and enter the Name, Household ID or Address of the subject who's household to join.
   
   
   
   
4. Click on [SUBMIT].
   
   
   
5. Select the Household tab to view all members within the same Household.
