Questionnaires may be developed for multiple languages. The added languages are shown at the top of the Questionnaires page within the Test Wizard.

Add a Language
To add a language:
- From the Questionnaires page, click on the settings icon.
- Select the languages to add one at a time.
- To make a language the default for the questionnaire, click on [MAKE DEFAULT].
NOTE – The default language for the questionnaire is also the language that Topline Analysis displays as in Live Results. NOTE – Translations are available for questions in the RedJade Library. In order for the translated text to be appear add the language to the questionnaire before adding questions from the RedJade Library. - To remove a language, click red trash can icon to [DELETE].
- Once satisfied with the language changes, click on [SUBMIT].
View and Edit Test Instructions in Another Language
Test instructions are viewed first in the default language. You can change to view in any of the added languages.
To view test instructions in another language:
- From the Questionnaires page, click on [EDIT TEST INSTRUCTIONS].
- From the Test Instructions, select the language to view from the drop-down menu.
The Test Instructions display in the language selected. Edit the text in the selected language, as desired. - Once satisfied with the Test instructions, click on [SUBMIT].
View and Edit Questionnaire in Another Language
Questionnaires are viewed first in the default language. You can change to view and edit in any of the added languages.
To view a questionnaire in another language:
- From the Questionnaires page, click on [ADD QUESTIONS] next to the questionnaire to modify.
- From the questionnaire, select the language to view from the drop-down menu.
- The questions display in the language selected. Edit the text in the selected language, as desired.
- If no translation text has been entered yet, the default language displays in the background to aid with entering the translated text. You can either enter it one-by-one for each response field or you can copy and paste a list of response text from an external document, such as Microsoft Word, to update the response labels all at once.
To copy and paste translation, click in the response field of the first blank response. Paste the copied response text list.
Alternatively, select/highlight existing response text and paste over-the-top to replace it.Depending on the content you are copy/pasting, the following behavior may occur: Pasting a single line of text or cell from a table will update the selected response field.
Click & drag, or press Ctrl+A from your keyboard, to select/highlight all existing response text and paste over-the-top to replace it. Existing response text will not be replaced/updated unless selected. New responses are automatically added as needed.
- Pressing the Enter key from an existing response jumps down to the next line of response text.
- Pressing the Enter key from the last response adds a new response.
- Pressing the Shift+Enter keys will insert a new response below the current selection.
- Pressing the Shift+Delete keys will delete the current selections.
- Pressing the Ctrl+V keys will paste copied content.
- Pressing the Ctrl+Shift+V keys will paste special and ignore additional line breaks within a cell of a table.
When copy/pasting multiple rows/lines of text or cells from a table:- Pasting into an empty (blank) response field populates that field first and any other empty (blank) response fields below it, then will automatically create new responses as needed to populate any other pasted lines of text.
- Pasting into an empty (blank) response field when there are fields with existing text below it populates the empty (blank) response first then will automatically create new responses below it as needed to populate any other pasted lines of text.
- If you select a response field that has existing text, the following will occur based on the placement of the cursor:
- Cursor placed at the beginning of the existing text, new responses are added above.
- Cursor placed in-between or at the end of the existing text, new responses are added below.
- Select/highlight existing text, the current response is updated with the first line of pasted text and new responses are added below for any additional lines of text.`
- Pasting from a horizontal table will automatically transpose the response list.
- Tables with multiple rows and columns will paste row-by-row from left-to-right.
- Paragraph breaks, line breaks or tab marks within the cell of a table will be treated as separate lines of text (responses) using the default paste option (Ctrl+V). You can press Ctrl+Shift+V to paste special and ignore additional line breaks within a cell of a table.
Alternatively, to remove the breaks if your source file is Microsoft Word:- Press Ctrl+* to enable "Show Editing Marks" and display the hidden formatting symbols in Word.
- Press Ctrl+H to "Find and Replace", and find "^p" (paragraph) or "^l" (line) or "^t" (tab), then replace with a "space". Choose to "Replace All".
- If additional responses are added from pasting multiple rows/lines, a modal opens that warns you of the new responses being added and potential misalignment with other languages. For example, note the new blank row inserted below "Ni Gusta Ni Disgusta" which should be removed before clicking paste to avoid misaligned response labels.
Use the text area in the modal to modify the pasted text or cancel to review the copied text in your source file before redoing the copy and paste.NOTE – After completing the paste it's highly recommended to also check the other languages to verify all labels are properly aligned. - The response text list is added to the existing responses.
- Switch back to the other language to verify/confirm that all the responses labels line-up properly.
Set Event Default Language
Surveys can be viewed in any added language. The participant can select the preferred language to view surveys. The preferred language is selected on the Participant Start screen.

To set the default language in surveys:
- From the Location page, click on the drop-down menu for Your default language is and select the default language for the event.
- Repeat for each event in the test.
- From the Participant Start screen, Please select your preferred language is presented with the default language selected.
The participant can select a preferred language, as desired.
Disable Multiple Language Selection in Surveys
Surveys can be viewed in any added language. By default, the participant can select the preferred language to view surveys. The preferred language selection can be disabled, requiring the participant to view surveys using the default language.

To Disable Multiple Language Selection in surveys:
- From the Questionnaires page, click on [EDIT TEST INSTRUCTIONS].
- From the Participant Start tab, check Disable Multiple Language Selection to require surveys to be viewed using the Event Default Language.
- From the Participant Start screen, the survey is viewed using the Event Default Language.
Multiple Languages for Online Anonymous Link Surveys
For Online Anonymous Link surveys, the Participant Start screen does not display. The participant is automatically signed in when they enter the survey link. In this case, the language to view the survey can be set directly in the survey link.

To use Multiple Languages in Online Anonymous Link surveys:
- Copy the Survey URL from the Test Dashboard.
- Append the locale parameter to the end of the survey link. For example:
https://app.redjade.net/surveys/onbd/exampleanonlink1?locale= - Add the locale code for each of the available languages participants can choose to take the survey in. For example:
