While building a questionnaire, you can add images or videos to a page or to a response. You can also specify for which languages the media files apply to.

Add Media to a Page
To add media to a page:
- Select Media from the Basic Library, Page Elements folder and click on the [+] button to add it to your questionnaire.
Click on the media element on the page to open the configuration window, then click on [ADD MEDIA].
- Select the Media Type, then Drag & Drop or Click the tile to Upload Media. Browse to locate and select the media file to upload.
The following file types/extensions are supported:
- Image – .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .webp
- Video – .mp4, .webm, .ogg, .m4v, .mov, .avi, .mkv, .wmv, .mpg, .mpeg, .mpv
A circular progress bar displays while the file is uploading and processing. Upload and processing times will vary depending on the size of the file and internet connection. - Preview the image, then specify whether to Upload Media For: Current Language or All Languages on Survey.
NOTE – For Media Elements, reopening Add Media and switching from Current Language to All Languages will update the existing media. To update the media for a specific language, you must reupload the file and submit with Current Language selected.
Click on [SUBMIT]. - The file is added to the media element configuration window. Adjust the Media Size from the OPTIONS tab and configure the available options, as desired.
- Media Size – Sets how large the media displays within the survey.
- Aspect Ratio – Control how your image displays:
- Auto – Keeps the full original image and fills any extra space with background color.
- 1:1 (Square) – Crops the image in to a perfect square.
- 4:3 (Retro) – Crops the image into a classic photo ratio.
- 16:9 (Widescreen) – Crops the image into a modern widescreen format.
- Boarder – Adds an optional border around the media. Choose thin, medium, or thick, and customize the border color.
- Rounding – Adjusts the corner roundness of the media. You can also make the media display as a circle.
To add a trigger to a media element, select the LOGIC tab, then click on +ADD TRIGGER. See Add or Delete a Trigger for the details about configuring a trigger. - Click anywhere off the window to close it. The media updates on the page.
NOTE – In the questionnaire builder view, videos are paused and muted. However, in the previewer and live surveys, videos will automatically play and be unmuted. - You can continue working with the Questionnaire Builder, adding more media files or other questions. When finished, click on [SAVE].
Add Media to a Question's Response
To add media to a question's response:
- From the bottom-right corner of a question's response list, click RESPONSE MEDIA. You can also hover your cursor over the right side of the list and click on the settings icon next to a response, then click on [ADD MEDIA].
- For each response, Drag & Drop or Click the tile to Upload Media. Browse to locate and select the media file to upload.
The following file types/extensions are supported:
- Image – .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .webp
You can also choose to upload media for many responses at once by either pressing Shift+Click on tiles or click the Select All button. Then Drag & Drop or Click to Upload Files. Browse to locate and select the media files to upload.NOTE – The order the response tiles are clicked is indicated by the # in the upper-right corner of each tile. When browsing for the files, the order which the files are selected will be the order they get assigned to each response. After the uploads complete you can also drag-and-drop, from one response to another, to reassign images as needed.

NOTE – For Response Media, the language setting only applies when you upload a new file. Simply reopening Response Media and resubmitting without uploading a file will not change the language of the existing file. To update the language selection for a response, you must reupload the file and submit it with the desired language setting.
