When creating a test you can enter the design parameters manually and have RedJade create the design block. Alternatively, you can import an externally created design block from an Excel spreadsheet. RedJade creates a design block from your uploaded parameters. You can import files up to 16MB in size.
Before uploading a design block, ensure that the file is formatted correctly:
Do not include a column header row.
Do not include columns for Participant Code or Verification Code.
Do not include any other sheets (tabs) in the file. There should be only one sheet (tab) with the block to import.
- Each row corresponds to a Participant.
- Each column corresponds to a Serving.
- Samples are represented by the Sample Identifier, NOT the 3-digit or 4-digit blinding code. (see columns B-E in image below)
- Multi-sample ranking, preference, or discrimination servings are represented by separating multiple Sample Identifiers by comma (no spaces) in the same cell. (see column I in image below)
- Non-Sample Questionnaires are represented by the questionnaire name or descending numbers starting with 99. Each code represents a unique questionnaire. (see columns A, F, H in image below)
- Optionally, assign days by inserting empty cells into a row. Alternatively, you can assign days uniformly for all rows after the file has been uploaded. (see column G in image below)
After the Design Block is uploaded, the contents of each cell is compared with the project's sample identifiers. Cell contents matching the sample identifiers are interpreted to be the samples. Cell contents not matching the sample identifiers are interpreted to correspond to non-samples questionnaires.
All participant groups within a design will use a copy of the same imported block. If you require each participant group to have unique serving orders, move the participant group to it's own design and import the block for the participant group.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
|
To import a design block:
- Select the Design Block tile.
- Select the design tab you want to import the block for, then select Import Block from the design's settings drop-down menu
- Click on [BROWSE FOR YOUR FILE] or drag the file to the window. If needed, first click on How do I format the file?. You can import files up to 16MB in size.
- Locate the file on your computer, then click on [NEXT].
Specify the Block Import details:
Confirm Non-Sample Questionnaire Mapping or make changes. Click on [MODIFY QUESTIONNAIRES], if needed.
Enter the Max Samples value for any Multiple Samples, After Samples questionnaires in the design. The value entered is the number of samples that come before and are linked to the Multiple Samples, After Samples questionnaire, for ranking or preference questions for example.
Enter the Days serving count. If your design has multiple days, click [+ADD DAY], as needed. Specify the serving count for each day. The sum of the serving counts over all days must equal the total number of servings.- Click on [SUBMIT].
- The imported block displays in the Block Preview. When satisfied with the design, click on [APPROVE].
NOTE – All participant groups within a design will use a copy of the same imported block. If you require each participant group to have unique serving orders, move the participant group to it's own design and import the block for the participant group. See Add or Delete a Design and Participant Group for further details.
