Use the default response option to pre-populate answer choices on a question when a participant starts the survey. Participants can then change their answers or continuing on without making a selection if they wish to accept the default answer choice.

Default responses can be applied on the following question types:

  • Single Selection
  • Dropdown Select
  • Multiple Selection
  • Line Scale
  • Numeric
  • Single Selection Grid
  • Multiple Selection Grid
  • Numeric Grid
  • Semantic Differential Scale Grid

NOTE – If you set a default response for grid or zipper questions, it will apply to all the groups in the grid or samples in a zipper question. At this time there is not a way to specify a different default answer for each group in a grid or sample in a zipper.
