The raw data file includes the individual responses per participant, per serving to each question from a test. Demographics assigned to each participant are also included. The Sample Details tab includes the sample list with all the sample form field data, see Add and Edit Samples for further details.


The following file format options are available:

  • Excel Numeric  Provides the analysis value as the response in each cell. This is the default option when you click the Download Raw Data button from the left side bar.
  • Excel Labeled  Provides the response label in each cell. 
  • Excel Numeric-Labeled  Provides the analysis value and response label in each cell.
  • JSON  The format used for storing and displaying results on RedJade web pages. See RedJade API for additional information.


In the Excel file downloads, the data from each questionnaire is presented in separate tabs. There are 4 header rows provided in the new numeric and labeled file formats:

  • Row 1 – The question number and type, for example:  Q1: Single Selection
  • Row 2 – The question text, for example:  Please select the phrase that best describes your overall opinion of this product.
  • Row 3 – The response coding, for example:  1=Dislike Extremely, 2=Dislike Very Much, 3=Dislike Moderately, etc.
  • Row 4 – The reporting name, or question text if no reporting name is entered, for example:  Overall Opinion

To download raw data:

  1. From the main menu, select ANALYSES.



  2. From the Analyses dashboard, search for the test and click on [VIEW].



  3. Click on [Download Raw Data] from the left sidebar for data in the default Excel Numeric format.



  4. To choose one of the other available format options, click the drop-down menu to the right of the [Download Raw Data] button.

    Optionally, select the option to Include Answered At Times. A column is added to the right of each question with the timestamp of when the question was answered.
