ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS

Recently we upgraded our sites to enable HSTS, an enhanced security protocol to make your connection to RedJade even more secure.  Unfortunately, this caused an issue with the RedJade Booth App that did not present itself in any other browser during QA testing.

The Booth App is based on https://nwjs.io/.  Under the covers it's a Chromium web browser, the same technology Google Chrome uses.  Because of this we often use Google Chrome as a stand-in for testing.

We apologize for the impact to our affected users.  We are continuously taking steps to improve RedJade and our processes to help ensure such incidents do not occur in the future.  In this case, we have updated our testing procedures to ensure Chromium is tested alongside other browsers.  We continue to investigate why Chromium exhibits unusual behavior not present in other web browsers.

The good news is we have successfully resolved the issue and enabled HSTS for your protection.

Thank you for your patience.  Please contact support@redjade.net with any additional questions or concerns.

We’re aware of an issue within the RedJade Booth App for Windows where a certificate error displays and the surveys page does not open. We’re actively investigating the issue and working to resolve it.

In the mean time you can Activate a Station in a Browser to collect survey data if needed.  Surveys through a regular browser session are not affected by the Booth App certificate issue.
