Subject Ranking is the process of identifying which subjects are eligible for a recruiting campaign and determining the order which they are contacted by. See also Subject Re-rank for details on how to manually force an update to the list of Possible Subjects within a campaign.
There are global default settings under Recruiting>Settings>Subject Ranking where the various values are defined that go in to a subject’s interaction rating score. This is how the “star” rating you see in the subject’s profile is computed.
SETTINGS>SUBJECT RANKING:
SETTINGS>SUBJECT RANKING:
- Interaction Values – Select the rating value to be applied for each type of outcome. These values are used to compute the subjects rating.
- No Show Penalty – When a no-show occurs the subject will lose the points awarded to them for a scheduled interaction. You have the option to apply an additional point penalty.
- Fall Off Rate – Interactions, attendance, and no-shows older than this value will not count towards a subjects rating.
- Subject Ranking Settings – Adjust the weight/importance given to each factor of subject ranking.
Generally speaking, it’s usually not necessary to adjust these settings. They’ve been set to an optimal state based on how positive and negative a type of interaction/outcome should be treated. By default, subjects are penalized for not showing up for a test, assuming you are using Assisted or Self Check-in to track participation. However, if you wanted to assign a stiffer penalty, you can increase the No Show Penalty up to -10.
The three options under the Subject Ranking Settings in a campaign are used if you want to adjust the weight/importance given to each factor of the subject ranking (the order they come up to be contacted by within the campaign). These settings are pulled into the campaign based on the defaults set in Recruiting>Settings>Subject Ranking, which are all weighted equally by default.
- Prioritize Quota Matches – Based on any Global Demographics you have added as quotas in the campaign that subjects also have assigned.
- Prioritize Interaction Rating – Based on a subject’s overall rating score. The interaction score is calculated from making contact with a subject and the resulting outcome (see Interaction Values below). A larger interaction score means you are making contact and they are completing screeners, following through with the process.
- Prioritize Low Activity – Based on lack of making contact with a subject, relative to number of campaigns they’ve been email blasted or called for (i.e. sent a lot of blast and have not clicked the link/interacted or completed the screener).
The system and its default settings are designed to try and reach people that have less activity and a more favorable interaction score. But if you want to adjust these weights to give a higher/lower priority to any of the factors you can, for example:
- If you wanted to ignore low activity then you can disable or lower the weight on “Prioritize Low Activity” and increase the weight on “Prioritize Interaction Rating” or “Prioritize Quota Matches”.
