Users of older internet devices may start to experience "Your Connection is not private" errors. This will occur most notably on Android versions prior to 7.1.1. If your Android device was manufactured before 2016, you may need to upgrade your device or consider switching to Mozilla Firefox.
RedJade uses Let's Encrypt as its security certificate provider, one of the largest providers of HTTPS certificates. On September 1, 2021 Let's Encrypt stopped cross-signature of it's certificates with IdenTrust's DST Root X3 root certificate, which was an older root certificate trusted by many older devices and operating systems. From this point on, Let’s Encrypt will rely solely on its own root certificate, called ISRG Root X1. However, older devices may not be able to obtain this certificate.
You may need to upgrade your devices to prevent them from having the "Your connection is not private" error. Affected users can also switch to using Mozilla Firefox, which is currently unique among browsers because it uses its own Root Trust system. We have also read that Google Chrome may follow suit in the near future, though no solid dates were available.
