A numeric grid question can be configured to sum to a total value, where the total of all responses within the grid must add up to a specified value.
To sum responses on a numeric grid question:
- Create a questionnaire and click on [ADD QUESTIONS].
- Add a Numeric Grid question to your questionnaire.
Enter the Responses as the list of items.
From the Validations tab, click on [+ADD VALIDATION], select Sum To as the Validation Type and enter the Sum Value. This is in addition to the existing Required validation.
Select Preview to see how the question will appear to participants.
A value must be entered for each item/response.
If the total of all the values entered is not equal to the Sum Value specified in the Validation configuration, an error message displays.
Once the Sum Value requirement is met, the error message is cleared and the participant can submit the page.
Continue adding additional questions to the questionnaire. When complete, click on [SAVE] then click on the X to close the window.
