Demographic Filters can be created from Single Selection and Dropdown questions on a No Samples questionnaire. These demographics can then be used to create filtered data within analyses allowing for deeper insights into your data.
NOTE – Only Single Selection or Dropdown questions from a No Samples questionnaire is currently supported when mapping demographics. |

No Samples Questionnaire Setup
The No Samples questionnaire below has two questions that can be used for creating demographic filters - Gender and Ice Cream Consumption Frequency. Both questions in this example are Single Selection questions.
Create and Map Categories / Demographics
The mapping can be updated at any time. For example, the researcher may wish to change "Weekly Ice Cream Users" to the "Heavy" user group. Follow steps 4-6 below to change the mappings.
To create a category and map demographics:
- Click on Participants from the Test Dashboard.
- Select the Demographics tab and click [CREATE].
- From the New Demographic Category modal, type a Category Name and associated Demographics.
Click on [SUBMIT]. - Click on Edit Mappings for each Category created.
- Select the appropriate No Samples questionnaire to map response data to the Category. Select which question to map from, then choose which demographic to map to each of the answer choices. The same demographic can be mapped to more than one answer choices.
Answer choices do not need to have an assigned demographic. For example, "Less Than Once Every 6 Months" is not mapped to any of the category's demographics.
Click on [SAVE]. - Click [SAVE & EXIT] to return to the Test Dashboard.
Create the Filter in Analyses
To create a data filter:
- Click on VIEW LIVE RESULTS from the Test Dashboard.
- Click on [FILTER DATA] from the test's Analyses page.
- Click on [+ADD NEW].
- Define the Analysis Filter. In the example below the Filter Name is "Medium & Heavy Users" and the "Heavy" and "Medium" demographics are selected from the "Ice Cream Consumption" category.
Click on [SAVE]. - The Analysis Filter is automatically selected when first added.
- Click on [FILTER DATA] to select or edit the filter.
