Global Demographics

These are currently called “Categories” in the recruiting module. Global Demographics are created at the top level of the Recruiting application and can be assigned to Subjects. Global Demographics can be used to Filter Subjects for a Recruiting Campaign. During a Campaign, a Global Demographic can be linked to a question in the screener.

Test Level Demographics

Test Level Demographics can be created in the Demographics tab under the Participant’s page in a Test. They can also be created by adding a new Quota in a Campaign (All Campaigns are linked to Tests). Test level Demographics exist only within a Test and the Campaigns linked to a Test. Test Level Demographics can not be saved to a Subject record. If a Test Level Demographic is created in the Participant’s page, it will have to be mapped to a question in a Non-Sample questionnaire within the Test.

Demographic Usage

  • Quotas – Demographics can be used to track Quotas within a campaign.
  • Question Triggers – Demographics can be used to trigger questions in Screeners and Test Questionnaires if they are populated prior to the question with the Trigger being asked.
  • Filters – Create Analysis Filters using Subject Demographics.

Demographic Function

  • The screener page contains a sidebar with the participant’s image, name, and any Test Level Demographics that have been assigned at the start of the screener. They can be assigned from either a Global Demographic or a Linked Campaign.
  • When a Global Demographic is selected to be used as a Quota in a Campaign, an identical Test Level Demographic is created. When a Candidate is selected to be screened, the Global Demographic value is populated in that Candidate’s Test Level Demographic. All Quotas, Triggers and Filters are based upon the Test Level Demographic Value.
  • Since a Global Demographic creates and populates a Test Demographic, it is not necessary to ask Global Demographics in the screener. The Demographics will be set and carry forward to the test. The only issue is if the Global Demographic is not completed for a Subject it will then not have a chance to be set in the screener and will remain empty through the test.
  • During a Screener, Question Responses that are mapped to Demographics are evaluated when the Next Page button is selected. Therefore; Demographic Triggers will be evaluated based upon the Demographic Value prior to the current page. For Example: Let’s assume the Demographic Category for a Candidate is “Favorite Soda” and their Global Demographic is set to “Coke”. During the Screener they are asked “What is your Favorite Soda” and their response is “Pepsi” and this question is mapped to the “Favorite Soda” Demographic Category. If on the same page there is a Question that is triggered based upon the Demographic “Pepsi”, it will not be displayed because the current value of the Demographic is “Coke” and will not be updated until the Next Page is selected.
  • After the Campaign is completed the ability to update the Global Demographic for all Candidates from their screener response can be done by selecting the “Sync Demographics” button in the top left corner of the Summary page.
  • During a Test's data collection, Question Responses that are mapped to Demographics are evaluated when the Questionnaire is submitted (completed). Therefore; Demographic Triggers will be evaluated based upon the Demographic value prior to the current Questionnaire.

Linking Campaigns

  • The Detail page of the campaign wizard has a section called “Link Campaigns”. Available campaigns are any for the same event that were created prior to the new/current campaign.
  • When a Campaign is linked, the Demographics that are set in the previous campaign are carried into the current campaign.
    • These Demographics are displayed in the Sidebar.
    • These Demographics can be checked again by creating a question in the current screener and mapping the question to the demographic. Any choice selected will overwrite the previous setting. The recruiter though will know what choice was selected in the initial campaign because it is displayed in the sidebar.
