This document outlines the Project Request workflow, including creating new requests, submitting requests for review/approval, and approving requests. 


NOTE – A User must be assigned the Project Requester role to create a Project Request. Users and Permissions can only be managed by a company administrator.

Permissions and Notifications

Users must have the appropriate permissions assigned and notifications enabled to work with project requests. 



Assigned Roles

The Project Requester role is responsible for creating and managing project requests. Users assigned this role have access to View Requests in the Projects section, can create new requests, share requests with other users and view requests that have been shared with them. The Project Manager role must also be assigned to allow approving and converting requests to projects.


NOTE – Users and Permissions can only be managed by a company administrator.

To review or change a user's permissions:

  1. From the ADMIN section, select USERS from the left navigation menu.



  2. Select a user to open his or her profile.


  3. Select the PERMISSIONS tab and check the Project Requester role.



  4. Click on [SUBMIT].



Notification Settings

New user notifications have been added to support project request features. Notifications allow for communicating changes made between the Project Requester, Project Manager and their teams.


NOTE – Notifications are managed by each user. A company administrator can not manager a user's notifications.

To manage notification settings:

  1. From the ADMIN section, select PROFILE from the left navigation menu.



  2. Select the NOTIFICATIONS tab:
    • Project Request Comment notifies the user when comments are left on a Project Request.
    • Project Request Status Change notifies the user when the status of a Project Request changes or an approved Project is scheduled.



  3. Click on [SUBMIT].





Create a Project Request


To create a project request:

  1. Select PROJECTS from the main drop-down menu or select the Projects tile from the home page dashboard.



    Users with only the Project Requester role assigned, the PROJECT REQUESTS page opens by default.



    Users with both the Project Requester and Project Manager roles assigned, click on [VIEW REQUESTS]. The PROJECT REQUESTS page opens.



  2. Click on [CREATE REQUEST].



  3. Enter the Details on the Project Request Form.

    Click [NEXT].


  4. Specify the Samples to include in the Project Request.

    Enter a Report Name and complete the sample details to the right, then click on [ADD].

    Click [NEXT].


  5. Review the Project Information and Sample Information.



  6. Optionally, add attachments, share the request, view availability on the testing calendar or send comments to users the request has been shared with.



    Manage Attachments – Files can be attached to a project request. Multiple files can be added as desired. Attachments are also available from the approved project.

    Sharing  The Project Requester's team is included by default. The Project Request can be shared with additional project members, as desired.

    View Calendar – Open a read-only view of the test calendar, viewable by location, to determine scheduling availability.


    Comments – Leave comments on the request between the Project Requester, Project Manager and their teams. Notifications are sent to users based on the Notification Settings they have enabled.



  7. Click [SUBMIT->].

    Click [SUBMIT] on the confirmation display to send the request.



    The Project Request displays with a status of Requested.





Approve a Project Request


To approve a project request:

  1. Select PROJECTS from the main drop-down menu or select the Projects tile from the home page dashboard.



  2. Click on [VIEW REQUESTS]. The PROJECT REQUESTS page opens.



  3. Click on [EDIT].



  4. Review the Project Information, Sample Information, and Comments.



  5. Optionally, view or add attachments, share the request, view availability on the testing calendar or send comments to users the request has been shared with.



    Manage Attachments – Files can be attached to a project request. Multiple files can be added as desired. You can attached non-executable files up to 16MB in size. Attachments are also available from the approved project.

    Sharing  The Project Requester's team is included by default. The Project Manager's team is added to the project when the request is approved. The Project Request can be shared with additional project members, as desired.

  6. Click [SUBMIT->].

    Click [APPROVE] on the confirmation display to approve the request.



    The request is converted to a project and the create test wizard begins.

View Approved Project Request from Project


To view the project request from an approve project:

  1. From the Test Dashboard, click on the edit icon.



  2. Click on [VIEW REQUEST].



  3. Review the Project Information, Sample Information, and Comments. Additional Comments can be left for the Project Requester and team members.
