Abandoning a booth allows the study coordinator to free up a booth prior to all servings being completed by the participant. Abandon is typically used in the following scenarios:
- The participant is unable to complete all servings due to time constraints.
- The booth computer is not functioning properly and the participant is being moved to a new booth.
- A sample has been skipped and will not be evaluated. See Skip Sample for further details.

To abandon a booth from serving console:
- Use the mouse cursor and hover over the booth tile. The tile flips to reveal additional options.
NOTE – From touchscreen devises you can tap the tile to flip it. From Android and MS Surface tablets, first lightly flick the tile then tap it to flip. - Click on Abandon to remove the participant from the booth.
- A new participant can now sign in to that booth and/or the participant can now sign in to another booth.
