The Zipper™ Merged feature within Questionnaire Builder is designed to evaluate multiple samples in parallel and to rate each sample individually on the same line scale. The new feature allows you to select the Zipper Merged option on a line scale question, by which the system will present each sample to be rated on the same line scale by the user prior to the next question. Only line scale and bullseye question types are applicable for Zipper Merged.

Create a Zipper Merged Question

To create a Zipper Merged question you must first create a Multiple Samples, with Multiple Sample questionnaire.  Then select a Line Scale question from the RedJade Library and complete it.

To add a Zipper Merged question:

  1. Create a Multiple Samples, With Multiple Samples questionnaire.

  2. Select the Line Scale question from the Basic Questions or Multiple Sample - Zipper library and click on the + to add it to your questionnaire.

NOTE – The Multiple Sample - Zipper folder includes all of the currently available question types supported in a Zipper Questionnaire. Only the line scale question type is applicable for Zipper Merged.

  3. From the Options tab, select Zipper Merged.  Optionally, select Use Sample Colors to display the handle for each sample's rating using the sample's assigned color from Sample Details.

  4. Customize the question text, tick marks, labels and options for the question, as desired.

  5. Select Preview to see how it will look to participants.  Note the Now Rating:  [####] area below the line scale indicating the sample code that is currently being rated.

  6. When the sample is rated the sample code automatically displays above the handle on the line scale.  If Use Sample Colors is selected the handle for each samples rating displays using the samples assigned color.

  7. Continue adding any additional questions for your questionnaire. When complete, click on SAVE.

  8. Click on the X to close the window, then click on NEXT to continue the wizard.
