RedJade allows users to add demographics following data collection by importing data from an Excel sheet. You can import files up to 100MB in size.


Sample Excel File

The Excel sheet should have column A labeled "Name" with the labels corresponding to the names in the file. In addition, the file should have the demographics assigned in columns for each individual. In the example below columns B, C, D are Exclusive Categories and columns E, F, G is a Non Exclusive Category.

NOTE – The demographic choices must be spelled and capitalized in the same way; e.g., Male and male are not categorized the same.




Participant List from RedJade

Go to the Participants step within RedJade and click on the Participants tab.

NOTE – The Names in the Excel file must match the Names in Participants, here 1001, 1002, 1003, etc. 




Import Participants

Select IMPORT PARTICIPANTS from the [...] drop-down menu.

Click on [BROWSE FOR YOUR FILE] to locate the file from your computer. You can import files up to 100MB in size.



Check the option to Match Names and click [SUBMIT].



Review the Import Preview

Name is a Field.
Gender, Age, and Ice Cream Brand MO are being added as Exclusive Categories.

Brands Used are being added as a Non Exclusive Category.

Participants listed all Match Existing "Yes".

Click on [SUBMIT] to import the file.



Verify the Import

Click Demographics under the Participants Tab to verify the demographics were assigned correctly.




Set Filters in Analyses to View Data by Demographic

Click on [FILTER DATA], then click on [+ADD NEW].



Set a Filter Name and Categories to Include

Below we have created a filter for "Females" and assigned Gender, Female to that filter.


Click on [SAVE].

NOTE – Multiple categories can be assigned to a Filter; e.g., a Super User may be a Female, Age 18-49 that has Brand A most often.
