A test is ready to launch when all the required components are complete. A green checkmark on a dashboard item of a test means that the item meets the minimum requirements for launch. Launching a test means you are enabling data collection for the test. You can preview a test and you can "unlaunch" a previously launched test if no data has been collected for any of the events in the test.

Following are the minimum required components of a test:

  • At least one event with at least one participant group.
  • An onsite event requires a reservation on the calendar to launch.
  • At least one questionnaire and each questionnaire having at least one question.

  • At least one design block and all designs approved.

Event participant requirements depend on the test type and check-in procedure, as follows:

  • Assisted Check-in – must have Participants added (imported, added manually, panel selected, or scheduled through a recruiting campaign)
  • Self Check-in – must have Subjects added in Recruiting with an Email or Code specified in their Subject profile, or Participants must be added to the Event with an Email or External id (if configured in Participant Sign-In Strategies).

See the following to preview or launch a test:

Preview a Test

Use the PREVIEW button to view and simulate the test. You can verify the questionnaire operation, but no data is collected.

To preview a test:

  1. Select PROJECTS from the main drop-down menu or select the Projects tile from the home page dashboard.

  2. From the Projects list, click on the [PID], Name, or [SUMMARY] button to open the project.

  3. From the Test Dashboard, select the event tab, then click on [PREVIEW] to simulate your test. The [PREVIEW] button is specific to the event.

NOTE – If the preview button is not visible then one of the required steps in the test setup is incomplete. Incomplete steps are indicated by a grey checkmark on the dashboard item. Click the tile that is incomplete to review and complete the setup.

  4. The preview opens in a new browser tab. On the participant start screen, enter a Participant Code and/or click [Begin].

Alternatively, click on [Choose or Define a Participant].

Select a participant from the drop-down list or enter participant criteria, then click on [Submit].

  5. On the consent agreement screen click on [I Agree] to acknowledge the agreement, if applicable, depending on your test instructions setup.

  6. Enter a Sample Code and click on [Start Questionnaire].

  7. Continue working through the simulated test, as desired.

Launch a Test

When all event days, participants, questionnaires and design block requirements are met, the items on the dashboard have green checkmarks and the LAUNCH YOUR TEST button is enabled.

To launch a test:

  1. Select PROJECTS from the main drop-down menu or select the Projects tile from the home page dashboard.

  2. From the Projects list, click on the [PID], Name, or [SUMMARY] button to open the project.

  3. From the Test Dashboard, click on [LAUNCH YOUR TEST] to launch data collection.

NOTE – If the launch button is greyed-out (disabled) then one of the required steps in the test setup is incomplete. Incomplete steps are indicated by a grey checkmark on the dashboard item. Click the tile that is incomplete to review and complete the setup.

The test is launched and collection activities begin.
