You can add a test to an existing project or start by creating a new project. A test must have one or more events, one or more questionnaires and one design block. An offsite test is conducted at a partner facility on your behalf. You can specify whether to have the test hosted at a RedJade® member facility, covered in this document, or get a URL to send to a non-RedJade member facility (see Create an Offsite Test for a Non-RedJade Member Facility).


NOTE – This document details the steps to add a test to an existing project. Instead, you can also choose to Add a New Event to a Test, for which begin with step 6 below. If you are creating a test as a continuation from the Create a Project wizard, begin with step 4 below.

Add Test Location and Participant Details

When creating a test, the licensee specifies offsite hosted as the location, then selects the member facility to send the hosting request to.


To create an offsite test for a RedJade member facility:

  1. Select PROJECTS from the main drop-down menu or select the Projects tile from the home page dashboard.



  2. From the Projects list, click on the [PID], Name, or [SUMMARY] button to open the project.



  3. Click on [ADD TEST].



  4. In the Create Test popup, select a test type from the drop-down menu. This example shows setting up an Acceptance test.



  5. Enter a test name (optional), then click on [CONTINUE WITH WIZARD].



  6. The system takes you into the Test Wizard to complete the test details. In the Location step, choose Off Site to the question "Where will you administer this Acceptance test?"



  7. Enter an Event Name and/or Description, if desired, select Hosted at a RedJade member facility as the Off Site option, then click on [NEXT].



  8. In the Participants step, complete the Number of Participants and Starting Participant Code field, or accept the default value, then click on [NEXT].



  9. In the Off Site step, click on the Location field and enter a company name or location name to search for the offsite host facility you wish to use. Alternatively, click on BROWSE LOCATIONS to view a full list of offsite host facilities to select from.



    Enter a search term, typically the metropolitan area in which to conduct the test, then select the host from the list.

  10. Complete the rest of the form, then click on [NEXT] to continue with the Project Wizard. See the field descriptions below.



    LocationBy default, only four locations display from the drop-down menu. Up to four user favorites display by clicking on the star icon. You can type in the Location field to search for additional locations, typically by company name or metropolitan area. Browse Locations allows you to search for and view details of a particular location.
    Session LengthThe amount of time, in minutes, subjects will be at the facility participating in the test.
    Number of DaysThe number of days each participant must attend.
    Number of Samples Per DayThe number of samples served to a participant per day.
    Earliest Date/Latest DateSpecified time frame within which the site is allowed to schedule testing.
    Detailed InformationAny additional information relevant to the test, such as sample information and recruiting.
    Manage AttachmentsRelevant files can be attached to the bid. You can attached non-executable files up to 16MB in size.


  11. To email the completed bid, click on [SAVE] in the bottom left corner of the window. The member facility is notified of the hosting request based on the member facility users' settings. See Manage Offsite Hosting Requests.

    NOTE – You can edit the form after it has been sent. If edits are made prior to the site accepting the bid, a new bid notification is sent. If the member facility has already accepted the bid, then a “Change Request” notification is sent.


  12. To send the hosting request to additional locations prior to acceptance or if the hosting request is declined, click on +REQUEST ANOTHER LOCATION.


    NOTE – The option, +REQUEST ANOTHER LOCATION, adds locations for one event only. If you intend to host your test at multiple facilities, you need to create a new event from the Test Dashboard, +Add a New Event.




Review Hosting Request Status and Bids

Return to the Test Dashboard to review the status of hosting requests and bids.

To review hosting request status and bids:

  1. To check the status of a Hosting Request, from the Test Dashboard select the OFFSITE tab. Review the Days tile.



  2. Click on the Days tile to review the test details and status.



    The Bids section displays "Please wait for field site to respond with a bid" until a bid is submitted.

    After a bid is submitted, the following statuses may display:
    • Pending – a bid has been provided and is pending review by the requestor.
    • Accepted  the bid has been reviewed and accepted by the requestor.
    • Declined  a bid has been reviewed and declined by the requestor.



  3. Once a bid is submitted, click on the PENDING bar on the Hosting Request to open the detail.



  4. Click on an option to [ACCEPT] or [DECLINE] the bid. The offsite hosting company is notified accordingly.


    If accepted, the offsite hosting facility can now schedule reservations. See Manage a Test as an Offsite Host.




Review Reservations

You can review the reservation's status below the accepted bid. Once the offsite host schedules the test, the reservation information displays. 


To review reservations:

  1. To check the status of a Hosting Request, from the Test Dashboard select the OFFSITE tab. Click on the Days tile.



  2. From the Hosting Request, click on the status bar, to show details. Once scheduled, the Reservations information displays.
